Neither in inward worth nor outward fair

Can make you live yourself in eyes of men. 12

所以生命只能靠生命线维系，

不论是我的涂鸦还是当代的画匠

都不能使你活在人们心房，

让你内在和外在的美色昭彰。 12

To give away yourself keeps yourself still,

And you must live,drawn by your own sweet skill.

放弃你自己将反使你自己长在，

想生存就得靠把传宗妙技发扬。

1 wherefore 为什么

a mightier way 等于in a mightier way,指用比第15首第14行中提到的嫁接的方式更强有力的方式，即用结婚生子的方式。

2 make war upon 对......开战。

bloody 沾满鲜血的。

3 fortify 加强，加固。继续使用第2行中的开战意象。

4 more blessed than my barren rhyme 以blessed为中心词的形容词短语，修饰前面的means。

blessed 快乐的，受保佑的，读作两个音节。

barren 贫瘠的。

rhyme 诗歌。

5 stand on the top of happy hours 如日中天，指财富，外貌，精力等都处于鼎盛状态。
