deny的用法

deny一般用作及物动词，译为拒绝、拒绝承认、否认知情等。

1、否定，否认

例句：

Since 20th the great change of education in west is to deny the cramming education thoroughly.

20世纪以来，西方最大的教育变化就是彻底否定了灌输式教育。

I do not deny that is a serious blow.

我不否认那是严重的一击。

2、拒绝给予；拒绝…的要求

Women were then denied the right to vote.

3、节制；戒绝

My mother denied herself constantly.

4、否认…是自己的；不承认；否认与…有关系

例句：

He denied this to be the case.

他不承认情形是如此。

India immediately denied any offensive attack. It also denied the deployment of air force.
